Typical black mentality….If you can’t afford to tip, don’t go out to eat!!!! Stay at taco bell!!! WTF he should be grateful that we paid the whole bill. What a CUNT!!!
This is not “Black Mentality” nor is it racist, this is progressive, liberal, poverty instilled, “you owe me” mentality. Thank you FDR for giving away the American Dream and causing Americans to believe they are owed all they can get.
Bill – Servers don’t make minimum wage, and even if everyone stiffs them and gives them nothing, they still have to pay taxes on the “tips” they never got in some states – the gov’t assumes they are making ~20%. So what you are saying is – make servers work for nothing, then make them pay tax on money they never recieve. FDR didn’t invent tipping you moron. I hope the next time you order a cup of tea you piss of someone that has hepatitis. And no, I have never worked as a server.
I would also like to note in Socialist countries tips are generally included in the bill automatically. It isn’t like that in America – if someone busts their butt you reward them. And I apologize for my disease remark, I don’t actually hope any server would pass on a disease because that is inherently wrong and sick, just saying be careful because if its going to happen to anyone its going to be someone like you. Next time you go out please treat others with the respect you would want for yourself.
Majority of states pay servers $2.13 an hour by federal set rate. And restaurants require servers to tip out baretenders, bus people, hostess and whoever else “helps” them with their job. The percentage rate on that varies. Servers tip out on their total sales, but the monies come from their tips. They also pay 10 to 20 percent in taxes on their total sales. This does not change according to what they have paid others. So, a check of $160.00 should have been a $32.00 tip at 20 percent. No less than $16.00 at 10 percent for terrible service. Yes, tipping is expected when you go out to eat in a sit down service establishment.
I would like to start by saying that Cherise is extremely offensive, and I’m glad it wasn’t my restaurant her and her friends wandered into. It was kind of refreshing to hear a server finally get to have their say on people not tipping. It can be really hard to take when you bust your hump on a table only to have them stiff you. And 8 bucks on 160 is being stiffed. It’s an insult to a solid server. 5%? Just keep it. I was surprised to hear that the server followed her out and confronted her. While it is the dream of every server to throw drinks on anyone who treats them poorly, the reality is that that sort of behavior will get you fired. I, as a former server/server manager, would definitely reprimand any server who did that, if not fire then depending on the severity. As to Cherise’s assertion that the restaurant should have some kind of printed statement regarding tipping, can I be the first to say, you are obviously far to tacky to eat in a fine dining establishment. Many high end restaurants do not even include the price of the food in their menus as it is considered tacky. My God, you’re eating at a fine establishment, not driving through a Circle K. As a side note, Its like to mention that I believe Bill was referring to the behavior of Cherise, not the behavior of the server.
If you don’t want to tip then don’t go out to eat. Yes, it is not required to tip, but in general, we pay people for labor, and serving and bartending is a labor job. When you get your car fixed, do you only pay for the parts that were put on your car? Do you complain to the manager that you dont want to help pay for the labor costs? Where do you think money comes from to pay their employees?? From you! Yes, if you didn’t have to tip and all employees were paid a fair wage, your food would be much more expensive then it is now. tipping is a good thing because if you get terrible service then the tip can reflect how you believe your service was. We have to put up with so much shit from customers, 15 refills, food modifications, we take the brunt of the complaints when your food doesn’t come out right, we are serving you so you dont have to cook at home. this is the way that it is, and if you dont want to follow the norms then do us all a favor and dont come out to eat. You look and sound like a complete idiot and I feel bad that black people get stereotyped as not tipping but stereotypes are mostly true. I have lots of black regulars that tip above and beyond to make up for the stigma that follows them. Showing your ass on camera and throwing around the f bomb you sound like a nightmare to wait on anyway so do us all a favor and stay home. You have no class. How you treat your server says a lot about who you are as a person, a lot of employers pay attention how potential employees treat their wait staff to get a better idea of who they are as a person and how they treat others. You have a blatent disregard for other people and it seems you are all about yourself. take constructive criticism anduse it to your benefit. If someone remembers you and remembers your tipping behavior, good luck getting good service. We are hard working people, we pay taxes and try to make a living the best we can. How dare you be such a bitch and think you can get away with it, you disgust me and I hope karma bites you in the ass. Make your own food and mix your own drinks, clean up after yourself and for gods sakes stay at home you ungrateful piece of trash. Let me guess, your filet was well done then you probably complained about the food too?? typical. your video is an embarrassment.
