Our Tipping Standards

Since the beginning Tip20′s goal has been two fold. First educate the public on good tipping practices and dining etiquette. Second, to educate the service industry on how to EARN their tips.

Todays entry addresses the former. The other day it was brought to my attention that our posted standard for valet parking was off (off meaning low). I do list many professions that are tip earners and I am always striving to have the most accurate information for the U.S. and around the world. I adjusted the valet standard based on all of the information I could gather on the topic, but it occurred to me that there may be other standards that are off or have changed.

I know there are other industries that receive tips such as tattoo artists but we don’t always know what a reasonable standard for tipping is. So if you spot an inaccuracy or a missing tipped job please bring it to my attention so Tip20! can continue to be the best most accurate resource for tipping standards on the web.
